प्राचीन काल में एक संत थे। धर्म श्रद्धा के कारण सदा प्रसन्न रहते थे चेहरे पर उल्लास टपकता था।
     चारों ने समझा उनके पास कोई बड़ी दौलत है, अन्यथ हर घड़ी इतने प्रसन्न रहने का और क्या कारण हो सकता है ?
     अवसर पाकर चारों ने उनका अपहरण कर लिया और जंगल में ले गया और बोले हमने सुना है कि आप के पास सुखदा मणि है इसी से आप इतने प्रसन्न हैं उसे हमारे हवाले कर दीजिए नहीं तो आपकी जान जान की खैर नहीं । 
     संत ने एक-एक करके हर चारों को अलग-अलग बुलाया और कहा, चारों की डर से मैंने उसे जमीन में गाड़ दिया है ।
यहां से कुछ ही दूर पर एक ही स्थान है अपनी खोपड़ी के नीचे चंद्रमा की छाया में खोदना मिल जाएगा ।
     संत पेड़ के नीचे सो गए चारों अलग-अलग दिशा में चले और जहां तहा खोदते फिरते जरा सा ही खुद पाते की छाया बदल जाती और उन्हें जहां तहां खुदाई करनी पड़ती रात भर में बहुत से छोटे बड़े गढ़े खुद गए , पर मेरी कहीं नहीं मिली
  चारों हताश होकर लौट आए संत पर गलत बताने का आरोप लगाकर झगड़ने लगे।
संत हंसे और भोले मूर्खों मेरे कहने का अर्थ समझो । खोपड़ी तले सुखदा मणि छिपी है अर्थात धार्मिक विचारों के कारण मनुष्य प्रसन्न रह सकता है तुम भी अपनी दृष्टिकोण बदलो और प्रसन्न रहना सीखो 
चारों को यातायात का बोध हुआ तो वे अपनी आदतें सुधार कर प्रसन्न रहने की कला सीख गए यही था सुखदा मणि।

     The saint called each of the four individually one by one and said, out of fear of the four, I have buried him in the ground.
There is only one place from here, you will find digging in the shadow of the moon under your skull.
     The saints went to sleep in four different directions under the tree and where they were digging there, the shadow of finding itself would change and where they had to dig there, many small big structures were themselves gone overnight, but I found nowhere.
  The four started quarreling, accusing the returned saint of being wrong.
Saint laughed and naive fools understand the meaning of what I said. Sukhda Mani is hidden under the skull, that is, man can be happy due to religious thoughts, you can also change your attitude and learn to be happy.
When the four became aware of the traffic, they learned the art of being happy by improving their habits and this was the Sukhda Mani.
