बहुत पहले की बात है एक पक्षी गौरैया अपने समुद्र किनारे अपने घोसले में अंडा दिया था वह रोज अपने मित्रों के साथ दाना चुगने के लिए बाहर जाती थी

 वह रोज सुबह सुबह दाना चुगने के लिए बाहर चली जाती थी एक दिन जब वह शाम को शाम को आकर अपने घोंसले में देखी तो अंडा नहीं था वह परेशान हो गई वह सोचने लगी कि अंडा किसने चुराया तब सामने समुद्र के पास जाकर उससे पूछा समुद्र क्या तुमने मेरे अंडे को देखा है 

 

तो समुद्र बोला मैं नहीं जानता तुम्हारे अंधे को मैंने नहीं देखा है फिर चिड़िया उदास होकर बोली तुम्हारे अलावा यहां कौन है फिर समुद्र बोला मैं नहीं जानता तुम्हारे अंडा को ढूंढ सकती हो तो ढूंढ लो चिड़िया गुस्सा होकर बोली देखो समुद्र तुम मेरे अंडे वापस कर दो नहीं तो मैं तुम्हारे इस समुद्र का पानी सुखा कर अपने अंडे को वापस ले लूंगी

यह बात सुनकर समुद्र जोर जोर से हंसने लगा और बड़े घमंड से कहा सुखा सकती हो तो सुधार लो चिड़िया और दृढ निश्चय कर ली कि मैं समुद्र का पानी सुखा कर ही दम लूंगी और अपने अंडे को वापस लूंगी यह सोचकर वह रोज अपनी चोच में पानी भर भर कर दूसरे किनारे की ओर रखने लगी इस तरह वह पहले दिन अपने दाना चुगने भी नहीं नहीं गई तब उसके अन्य साथी उसके पास आकर देखा कि वह चिड़िया निरंतर

 

 प्रयास कर रही है तब उन्होंने कहा कि यह संभव है तुम नहीं सुखा पाओगी समुद्र का पानी फिर भी गौरैया चिड़िया बिल्कुल हार नहीं मानी और निरंतर प्रयास करती गई धीरे-धीरे उसका स्वस्थ बिगड़ने लगा जब थक जाती तो थोड़ा आराम कर लेती यह देखकर उनके अन्य साथी चिड़िया के राजा गरुड़ देव के पास गए तब गरुड़ देव वहां आए और बोले कि तुम या नहीं कर सकती अपनी हार मान लो फिर भी वह चिड़िया किसी की बात नहीं सुनकर निरंतर प्रयास करती रही तब गरुड़ देव भगवान श्री कृष्ण के पास गए और सारी बात बताई तब श्री कृष्ण ने समुद्र से कहा कि तुम पीछे हट जाओ तब समुद्र श्रीकृष्ण की बात मानकर पीछे हट गया इस तरह गौरैया चिड़िया ने अपने अंडे को वापस ले लिया

इससे या शिक्षा मिलती है कि कोई भी काम छोटा या बड़ा नहीं होता अगर दृढ निश्चय कर लिया जाए तो हर काम आसान
